Aggregates make up the largest volume (66% to 78%) of material used in concrete.  The aggregates must be clean, properly graded, hard, strong, durable, and free from chemicals or coatings of clay or other foreign materials that may inhibit the bond between the cement and aggregate.  Testing must be performed to make sure that the aggregate meets all these criteria.  Our clients depend on us to help them with aggregate selection and quality control.

TEC Services’ employees are active members in ACI, ASTM, ICRI, FRCA, ASCE and SWRI.  Several TEC employees are current or past committee members, committee chairs, board members and presidents of the above mentioned organizations local and national chapters.  TEC Services works closely with ASTM in the development of aggregate test methods, testing guidelines and specifications.

At TEC Services we perform a wide range of the testing on aggregates.  Our laboratory accreditations include ISO 17025, AASHTO R18 and we are and approved laboratory for the US Army Corps of Engineers.  We offer a full range of aggregate testing and capabilities.  Our expertise allows us to use the information gained from testing to help develop concrete and mortar mix designs.  Some of the testing we performed is referenced below.  This list consists of tests that we perform on a regular basis.  If a test is desired that is not listed below please call and inquire for further details.
